What did he do that was revolutionary?

He made a model of the universe. The first correct model with the sun in the middle.(Meaning that the sun is in the middle meaning Heliocentric.) Him and Galileo were the first people to mess with the placement of the planets. The difference was that Galileo had gotten life in prison. Why did Galileo get put in prison? The Church though their ideas were wack, and back then the Church had a lot of power, and because of that the Church had put him in jail. That is a terrible fate right? Life in prison just because you were creating theories about the planets? Thats just wrong, but back then it was right. I think both men were brilliant and had brains above there time.
