The Veil

John Locke was a philosopher, that came up with the theory called the Veil of Perception. He thought that the idea is just a perception put into our minds.

I think The Veil is what you think you see smell touch and taste. The problem is that you don’t know if it exists or not. Someone might be feeding the info into your brain from another dimension or from a computer. I feel that in ways like inner dimension travel from aliens its possible or that something inhuman is doing it. Otherwise I don't think it's possible.

Who came up with this theory?

A guy named Locke did. In Enders Game there is also character called Locke.

If you read the book what do you think the original Locke has to do with the Locke in the book?

I think he chose the original Locke because the Locke side of Peter was clever, and Peter came up with theories and ended up leading the order with the theories that he created about the buggers and the Russians. The original Locke also lead with his theories. Also the name Locke sounds tough and cool.
