PI (and a mistake made by Shanks)
William Shanks was a good man. He was really good at math. He spent most of his life calculating the digits of pi. He got up to 527 digits and was doing well until he wrote a 5 instead of a 4.That made his other 80 digits WRONG. Which probably sucks because he died after making those digits. He died with a mistake, that must SUCK. The mistake that everyone has made that is trying to find the end of pi does not get that it is an infinite number. The world most powerful computer is currently in China, and if they use it to calculate the number of pi, then they would find it in a matter of months, or years. We the people have tried to calculate it the number of pi several times and we have failed many times. Some have even died trying. Now only computers are doing it, meaning that only computer are calculating pi, but back then they didn't have computers the had brilliant minds, so calculating was was a lot harder back then. In 1949, the ENICA computer calculated 2037 digits but now the known digits of pi are 1,241,100,000,000, which is insane!!.
